Hi Hunter,
One of the things that intrigued me about the Yamaha was the ability
to use either/or fuels, and not have to do anything but flip a switch
to changeover. Of course, thinking about that flammable cocktail in
the back of my truck did give me pause.
I've been told the cost of a good generator setup is about the same
as solar, but I haven't checked it out. Of course, I'd like both:-)
My plans include some real cold-weather camping so making sure I have
enough heat to keep the pipes from freezing is important. When I flee
to the heated deserts of the SW or the Gulf Coast, then I'll worry
about AC. With these extreme weather patterns, life in a metal tube
with dogs and birds could make me a Weather Channel addict:-)
And Steve, the website I sent has some disclaimers on their FAQ page
about the power drops on propane. I don't know whether they are valid
or not. Have you experienced this first-hand?
Thanks!
Anne in VA
