[Yahoo cuts off the last bits of long links]
Marginalization. Notice that, when you post, you type and type away until
you reach the end of your window, then it wraps down to the next line.
Yahoo's window margin, however, is much smaller. Word says that my window
is a virtual 11.5" wide and the posts are coming through as 4.75". If
you've completed a URL and entered a space after, MS will recognize the link
and, even if it's broken by the line break, will work. If you put in a
period or comma after, MS hasn't identified it as a URL and allows Yahoo's
line break to happen as if it were just text that continues on the next line
(usually black text while the previous portion is blue). When I saw the
difference in colors, I copied the two lines and used Notepad to reconstruct
the whole URL, then pasted that into TinyURL.com for the convenience of the
listers.
