All good ideas. Hope everything works out for you.
On the flip side, I talked to progressive when I finished my restoration
last year. They basically said that it really didn't matter what all I did
to the trailer, they would only insure with a regular policy up to what ACV
was - mostly based on blue book or NADA value. When I purchased the agreed
value the sales person said that if I had all my receipts and pictures along
with costs of the upgrades it would be good enough for the policy. Two days
later when the policy arrived I was informed about the need for an
appraisal. Without the appraisal I still would only get what they
determined to be ACV no matter what I had the trailer insured for.
Please let us know how this comes out!
BTW, I found that Progressive was a wonderful company to work a claim with.
I lost a tire just a few days after getting the appraisal and had more than
$6K of damage to our '77. They fixed everything without question and
renewed my policy this year at $10 less than last year.
