I think it was Sandra that put Magnets on them and made that work
I never got that far but that could be a solution
The Magnets would hide behind the rubber, so you wouldn't even see them
The other part would be where the velcro is now
check that out and see if you like it
 
the other option was to screw the velcro (Oh boy.. I know...but I think it was done)
to the wall and that way it won't pull off in the heat
Just another option
