We have the clamshell, so as Nick said, the nice Tropos carrier won't fit, but we thought of an idea (we haven't tried yet...just an idea)....
We installed an aluminum tongue box (as many have) and we thought maybe we could mount it to the SIDE of the tongue box, using some steel plates on each side of the aluminum wall to reinforce it.
Otherwise, we've securely straped it down on our tow vehicle's (TV) roof rack using strong ratchet straps. We have a ladder up the back of the TV. So this set up makes it more accessible than when it was under the t@b....not ideal by any means...but better...
