DL; As Alan, says use some silicon spray to lubricate the track.
We also use a small tapered bottle brush to clean out the road grit from all the tracks when we set up the add a room or awning.
We use a Powerfilm rollable solar panel http://www.powerfilmsolar.com/
to keep the charge up while boondocking. Others have more elaborte setups.
