You know what - you could do faux shades by attaching velcro to the
shade cover and sewing velcro to the fabric (with ribbon to tie it up
or a cord w/ grommet holes for a faux roman shade). If you have the
front window, additional velcro or even paired magnets would hold the
bottom in place if desired.
