Where did you see the t@b? Where do you live?
Here's my t@b story:
I live in Sherman Oaks, a suburb of Los Angeles in the San Fernando Valley. I started looking for a 2010 bathroom model in the Spring but found nothing in Southern California. Then I extended my search to Oregon where I found two, new bathroom models for $16,000 each at George Sutton RV. However, I wanted a silver t@b.
I found a lightly used 2010, silver t@b in Minnesota. I opened an account on U-Ship and found someone to drive it to me for $1,300. The price of the t@b was 13,000.
So, my 2010 bathroom t@b cost $14,300, before tax and title. I named her "Tawanda".
Since getting my t@b I've put a lot of thought into the sleeping/storage design. The bathroom model has a higher AC that sits more aft than other models--it acts as a table of sorts. That leaves 55" fore and aft for sleeping. It's just me most of the time so I only need 32" inches of width to sleep. Since I'm only 5'5", I sleep with my head/feet port/starboard. If I have a guest, I have a 23" board to lay across the other 23" inches. I'll store this board in my garage. Both the 32" and the 23" have cushions but they are hard as a rock and badly designed (for my purposes) so I'm going to have new cushions made.
What I wish I had known going into this is: it's important to determine set up at the start of a trip. Breaking down the bed and setting up the bed and moving cushions is not my thing. I'm storing the table and all my cushions and leaving the exposed surfaces as landing space and easy access to storage.
I'm thinking about going to Leo Carillo today or tonight. It will probably be just me so I won't need to do anything! If my daughter comes, I'll grab the 23" board and matching cushion and lay it in before I start--that's it!
Are you still there?
Amy
