Re: [tabtrailers] Furnace vs Heat Pump?

Roozter(?)--IMNSHO, the heat pump is only useful if you have shore power, and then only if the temp is above about 45F. With shore power, a small inexpensive ceramic heater will do the job well and saves wear and tear on the heat pump. Of course, without shore power, the furnace would be my preferred option over a portable catalytic heater.

Subject: [tabtrailers] Furnace vs Heat Pump?

Hi all,
I tried to find a similar topic with little luck.

Last weekend was our first outing where it was cold enough that we needed to turn on the heater. We have both the furnace and a heat pump option.

What is the pros/cons of each? Do you prefer one over the other? We ended up going with the furnace. Worked fine, not too loud, but had a faint gassy smell.

Thanks for your input!
