Karyn
Just wanted to say Hi and Welcome though I am new to participating in this group I have 2 Newf' and had to chime in. Glad to know there is "Family" here!
Ours are not really the "Camping Type" though they will go anywhere just to lay down there,I have a feeling you know what I mean?
Mine also don't think they can jump into the trailer which is funny since they don't even have too but they are silly for sure.
It would just be too hot inside anyway and of course there is the hair too.
On the occasions I have had them along I do not fear not too much as I am the only one who knows they are Gentle Giants/Clowns!
I camp all over South Florida this time of year and it seems safe to me so far.
Last year in November I had a 5 foot Iguana fall on the roof of my trailer at 3a.m.that scared the crap out of me but it was the record cold that caused them to drop last year.
There were people in tents around me and I would have been un-nerved by that one.
Another time an alligator tried to eat a little yapping dog at a state park I was at but I doubt they would try to land a Newf.?
I stayed in a park in the middle of Palm Beach County and was almost alone in an urban setting and was a little leary at first but it turned out OK for me.
I would prefer to have a trailer myself but I see others with tents all the time.
Hope to cross paths some time.
Ed,Abby and Sophie von Newfenburg.

Anyway, we camped across the US from Washington State, up to Nova Scotia and then Newfoundland and back to the US. We are now in North Carolina and headed to South Carolina tomorrow.

I keep hearing about snakes, alligators and such that are pretty dangerous in the south. Since I don't have my T@B yet, I've just got a thin canvas between myself and nature.....

Also, is it possible to find campgrounds that are open this time of year in the south that will even allow tenters? As I've been driving down here (I'm staying with friends now), the signs I've seen for campgrounds have all had big "Closed" signs on them!
