[tabtrailers] Re: FURNACE ISSUES/Smell on startup, one or more detectors sounded.

That's pretty much it. If it won't start, there is a reset button somewhere on the furnace. Check files on this group for more information.

If it is the smoke detector, let it run for awhile with the windows open, let the dust burn off. It should eventually stop smoking/smelling. If it is CO, get it checked out if you are not handy. If it's leaking carbon monoxide that's bad news.

I am going to do this again to make sure which one is going off. It was one of the ones on the ceiling, kind of hard to tell which. Yeah, it stinks pretty bad. If its not propane, should I just let it "burn off" (the smell)?

If your's is like mine, up near the ceiling may be two more detectors. One is for Carbon Monoxide and the other is for smoke. If the smoke detector went off, you may have been burning off some dust in the furnace which will make a smell and can set off the detector. If the propane detector went off, you may have a leak and this should be investigated further before using the furnace again. Same for the Carbon Monoxide detector, if it went off you have have an issue with the heat exchanger in the furnace and this also needs to be investigated further. As Jerry said earlier, you need a little ventilation such as the window cracked (the latches on the windows have an intermediate position for this in addition to crack the roof vent.

You may also have a CO detector, depending on the age of your T@B. If you do in fact have a propane leak, that clearly is a serious issue. You may have a leak in the duct to your vent, or??? I don't have the furnace, so maybe someone with more familiarity with it than I can jump in and help out. The trailer should always be vented when occupied, even if only one window in the half-lock position.
