Yes a weather radio is nice to have, but learn to read clouds and moon sign and you can do a pretty good job at forecasting your own weather reports.
Also I highly recommend XM/Sirius radio. You can get the weather of all major cities in the U S. and reception in the narrowest canyons. The best thing with XM is a campground music party. We had 4 trailers with XM set to an agreed station and rocked and rolled the day. Everyone had a blast. Well worth it. Al, Taxitab
