Actually, it would be very easy to hit it with a trailer behind the mower
and not know it. The aluminum is very soft and there is a lot of movement
on the mower. Trailers that can be pulled behind a mower are normally very
light and will be easily pushed away from the airstream while still denting
the trailer. The mower driver probably wouldn't feel anything out of the
ordinary in a field. If it were on a paved surface it would be a very
different matter. Get the mower and trailer back to the airstream and line
things up. Also look on the airstream for any sign of color or marking.
I'll bet they line up close enough to establish what happened.

FYI, it cost over 6K to replace the side panel on my '77 last year. Panel
was just over 1K, labor over 4K. This is a smaller panel, but because of
the shape I would expect about the same panel cost. Labor should be
somewhat less as there is much less to remove to replace the panel.

I was extremely pleased with the repair done by JD Sanders Airstream in
Florida.
