I know ....this topic has been addressed several times in the past but I have renewed interest in the subject as of yesterday.
For starters, we have AAA for basic roadside assistance on our car. The membership is in my wife's name and since we generally travel together that has never been a problem. I signed up for Good Sam ERS 2 years ago when we bought our T@B.
So here's the rub. Yesterday, I noticed that our pick-up had a flat tire. I called AAA but since my wife was out of town and unreachable they couldn't respond. I thought to myself ...no problem, I'll just call Good Sam. So, I got Good Sam on the phone and after taking all my information they told me that they couldn't help me because the truck was at my home and I was not stranded along side the road somewhere. As a matter of fact, the truck was parked out on the street so technically it was "along side the road". Long story short, the truck is still sitting there in the street with a flat tire. I would have fixed it myself but there is about a foot of snow on the road and I have a heart condition.
I understand the AAA position but needless to say I am LESS than pleased with the response out of Good Sam. I'm a good notion NOT to renew Good Sam when it comes due. Just thought I'd vent a little here and see if anyone else has had similar problems.
Thanks in advance ...
Mark J
