Visited with a friend who has just started full-timing in a Big-Ole-Box
(gooseneck with popouts in every direction).
Very nice camper as long as it's sitting still, but can't speak to what it's
like going down the road, but she swears it's like it's not back there, but
that's not what I meant to write about.
The thing that impressed me was the fact that her BOB is right now sitting out
in a beautiful cow pasture facing a treeline and pond along with about 5 other
BOBs. Each one has it's own little storage house which also doubles as
connection point for plumbing, phone, cable TV, and electricity.
My question is: Is this a common arrangement? She had to give me detailed
directions on how to find the place because it's no visible from the road, and
doesn't even have a real sign anywhere. They just pay the farm owner $300 a
month and are set for the winter.
I've been thinking about doing something like this myself on my farm for years,
but always thought more in terms of having to start a lot bigger.
I really like the idea of setting up with only a handful of well spaced pads and
only deal with fulltimers and snowbirds rather than weekenders.
