The 7.3 is as good as Ford is gonna get. Thats because it's an International engine.
They haven't come up with it's equal as yet, Ford that is.
The new gas engine may be good but you can't expect that milage dragging anything.
I think it would be worth you time to find someone that is actually using one like you intend to and talk to them before you buy one. People have a tendency to overstate things,
especially if they are trying to sell you something.
I base this on several farmer friends that have spent K's of $$ just trying to keep the later diesels (FORD) running. They are now driving Dodges. I drive Chevy's and don't sell or promote any brand.
