We looked at a 1985 345 for $12,500 and another one for $16,500 because we
love the "look" of the Airstream MH-so $15,000 may be a good deal. We were
told to look for rust and corrosion mainly. Also fully understand what you
are getting into. You will need a toad to tow (so you need to know how
much the MH can tow) if you want to go anywhere after you set up camp.
Also, I think all motor homes get poor gas mileage and that may be the least
of your concerns..you need house batteries plus for the motor. You may need
8 tires. It is important that all systems work-alternator, generator, etc.
You are basically dealing with a truck + all the trailer like systems on
board so it is more expensive than a non truck and when you say "Airstream"
it is more $$$ as well. We were advised to get a qualified inspector to
check it out. Good luck with it and let us know how it goes..they sure are
purdy...so I understand the attraction.

Subject: [A/S] 1995 Airstream Motorhome
We have been looking at a 1995 Airstream 33' motorhome (gas motor). It is
in excellent condition with 58,000 miles. Does anyone have good, bad or
anything else to say about these besides the poor gas mileage? They are
asking $15,000. We really have never looked at the Airstream motorhome's we
have always had a trailer (which I love). I don't' plan to give up our
trailer but the extra room would be great when we go to bluegrass festival's
or hauling my Dutch ovens around. I just can't look at buying some other
brand!
Thanks
