Guess it depends on what kind of camper you want to be. If you only do short trips in the summer, maybe a very hot meal won't be on the agenda. If you do winter camping you may like a stove with all the amenities to have some hot food going on in your cozy abode. Or maybe a microwave and stove top will occupy your needs just fine. So it all depends on how much cooking you plan to do, if you want nurture over your cooking like Chef Paul or have it quick and easy and maybe the season will be part of that decision.
Best to you,

Hi All,
I am a new Old Airstream owner. It is a 1971 Caravel, in good condition outside of normal wear and tear for it's age. The 70's decor just doesn't it for me however, so I am going to redo the interior and change the floor plan. The original stove is in excellent condition. The oven looks as though it has had little or no use. This leads me to question the need of a full stove or just a cook top. I can see that Dutch oven cooking seems quite popular with Airstreamers. I did have one two week trip in it when I picked it up after I purchased it this fall and made my way home. I didn't feel inclined to use the oven.
Thoughts?
Toni
