Hunter,
In my haste (I am at work). I said the wrong fitting. This is flare
fitting, tools can be purchased at any plumbing shop or Home Depot. 1) Cut
off tool to shorten the pipe and 2) a good quality flare tool.

Hi Hunter,
Still thinking about loss.
This is a compression fitting. Any plumber can shorten the copper pipe very
quickly. If you were in Granbury, I would do it for you. Do not use a flex
line!
