[tabtrailers] Re: Time for a new Tow Vehicle...thoughts on small SUV?

I tend to agree--I have been watching since 2008, knowing I would be getting a new TV, waiting for Toyota & Subaru to come out with a Diesel or Natural Gas for the US market--I think the reason that it hasn't happened is because by the time the put all the EPA bells and whistles on, it would not be worth it.
I would get a new Subaru in a heartbeat, but I think they are underpowered for towing in the Mountainous West.
After reading through most of the messages here, it seems that one can expect about 15mpg while towing a "Marshmallow".
At this stage in my life, High Clearance, Real 4WD, and 5,000lb. Tow capacity, are what I am looking for. It seems like 22mpg/hwy is about the best I can find, then so be it. cindy
