For what it is worth, my one real experience with full-timing in a Casita came a couple of years ago when we shared the same
campground in Brenham TX with a retired gentleman who was full-timing with his dog in one of the 16 footers (I think -
memory, you know). Of course, it could have been the same gentleman. The trailers are made just up the road towards
Dallas - see their website.
This gentleman said he had been at it a couple of years as I recall and claimed to be very satisfied. He denied any interest in
anything else, or even trading in on a new one. We had plenty of opportunity to go over his rig and see everything, question
everything. I was impressed. It seemed very well built and very well designed. The interior had everything I would ever need,
including AC, and was well-finished. It had a surprising amount of storage, again more than I would ever need. But then, I
probably need less than the average. Very easy to clean.
My only reservation would be the steel frame - one would have to be very careful to protect and update the paint. And of
course, fiberglass doesn't last as long as aluminum. But then, when you are retired you usually don't have to worry about
outliving your coach. The single axle doesn't panic me - there's no way you could fit a second axle under that little thing. If I
were traveling alone, and if there were no vintage a/s's available for a song, I'd give it serious consideration.
Hope this helps.
