Hi Glenn, Yes I've been to the Scamp web page. and checked out all their
units.. they seem to have a good product as well . That might be worth
considering.. As much as the casita appeals to me.. My first choice is
Airstream. I only wished they would stop making them heavier each year. I
remember A/S used to boast to being light weight a long while back... Dominick

Subject: [A/S] Aluminum vs. Fiberglass
To Dominic;
Hi, Glenn P. here. I owned a 92 Scamp 16ft for 17 years and had it from new.
They are built in Bakus Minesota. I went up there with Wifey and the kids and
towed it back here to S.W. Pa. with a 88 Plym. Voyager V6. We pulled this
trailer all over the place and never had ONE problem with it except a small leak
around a side marker light which was easily fixed. It had a torsion axle, no
problems. Also plenty of ground clearance. There is some sort of a connection
between the Casida trailers and Scamp that goes to their beginning years but I
forget the details> Anybody else know?? These are very durable and keep thier
value very well. After 17 years, I still got a little more than I paid for this
trailer on e-bay!(not adjusted for inflation) I had something like 180
watchers, over 4000 hits, and calls from all over the country! I sold it to fund
my '57 Silver Streak project. We wanted a little more room and I always wanted a
vintage trailer. By the way, They also make a fith wheel with more room! Check
it out. Goole Scamp trailers. See what ya think.
Glenn P. 57 Silver Streak 19ft.
