Ok, you got me beat! I was thinking highest highway pass in the US was on
Rt 70 at Eisenhower Tunnel, 11,192 ft...
However, a quick bit of research shows Monarch Pass on Rt 50 to be 11,312
feet elevation... Still, you make a very good point...
I spent a bit of the summer of 1968 exploring the continental divide, north
to south in a '53 Dodge 3/4 ton (6 cyl. flathead) with a homemade
camper... Only cost me one transmission...
