Numbers don't lie. Folks who are using underrated tow vehicles are not
only in danger of losing control and wrecking themselves, but they are a
danger to others on the highway. Badly set up towing rigs are also
dangerous. Even if an under rated tow vehicle will move a trailer, it
may not be able to stop it. In addition, they are looking for some
sizeable repair bills to transmission, suspension and the engine.
More geese than swans, more fools than wise.
People drive when drunk too.
Some of the older Airstreams are much lighter than the new ones, my 29'
'73 weighs 5,000-6,000 depending on how much stuff I have. Newer
trailers of the same length are much heavier.
Happy trails,
Daisy
