[tabtrailers] Re: iT@B pictures posted

I had a phone conversation with Joe from Little Guy about this venture last summer. This was one week before he was going to the T@B plant in Germany. He discussed how this was admittedly a difficult economy for $16k T@Bs, but that Little Guy already used a lot of materials that could go into a reconfigured model. Relying totally on a package shipped from Germany and assembled here simply costs too much. During that stage of planning the idea was to see what needed to come from T@B, and what could come from local sources that Little Guy was already using. Then take all that and bring the price point down to a level that our current economy could support. There was never any intention of duplicating the old T@B. The idea was to make a version that people could actually afford to buy. Personally, I think they did a great job of retaining the necessary T@B DNA while bringing the price in line with the economy. IMHO : )

For example there is no trim grove...hence no add a room attachment as originally designed. The ceiling is not carpeted and looks like it is in three sections. The long storage compartment in the rear that is even in height with the sofa when in the bed position in my T@B is 3-4 inches higher in the iT@B. (Queen vs King?)

I too see a few issues but keep in mind this may be the first production model and is due for some tweaks in later models.

I throughly inspected the exterior of the new iT@B and took these pictures with my Droid phone. The unit sold over the weekend and was locked so I was only able to see the inside through the windows.

They sell for $12,000 + tax + doc fees (and maybe dealer prep) + $395 shipping. There was no literature at all...not even a computer print out. This unit had a 12v fridge, a small TV/DVD/Radio?, a separate sink and propane 2 burner stove, a propane furnace, a ceiling fan but no a/c. It did have the CoolCat cabinet that was completely open in the front. Maybe you can add one later. Otherwise the inside was "almost" the same as my u-shaped bed plan.
