Here is a friction type sway control which will usually work on trailer up to about 26'.

Here is a typical weight distributing without a sway control device.

Here is a Reese Dual Cam at the top of the page.

I have been using the Dual Cam set up for a number of years with no problems. It is a bit harder to install and set up, but it is a tried and proven design that works.

We started pulling a TT with a regular WD hitch and a friction sway control. It was only a 21' trailer and it worked OK. later we got the 28' Silver Streak and initially it had a friction sway control. I switched over to the Dual Cam and never a problem.

If your hitch weight is causing the rear of the truck to squat, you need to get a properly set WD system. The purpose of the WD system is to transfer some of the weight to the front axles of the truck which will help in handing over all. Set properly, it will also improve the ride with the truck and trailer.
