The furnace uses propane gas to generate the heat, and it only needs 12V to run the fan and the ignition system. A heat pump is just like an ordinary air conditioner, but is reversible to transfer the heat from outside to inside in the heating mode. It needs 120VAC to work. It becomes much less effective for heating if the outside temperature is below about 50F. In fact, if you have the 120VAC (shore power), it is much easier and less expensive to heat the inside with a small portable ceramic heater, which saves wear and tear on the heat pump. The furnace is an entirely separate entity, and is located in the T@B under the streetside rear storage area. The thermostat will control either.

Do I need to run one on AC and one on 12v? The manuals tell you how to turn them on but not what they do or what they run on. While here at my house I have the T@B hooked to AC and was just checking to see if everything worked. Furnace fans and Heat pump fans are working but I didn't really feel any heat. Does it take a little bit for the heat to come out the vents? Thanks for any help!
