My on going saga after I fried my hubs back in September.....
After a couple months of working with Al-Kober USA, they would not recommend replacing with the USA version of the axle. Due to some extra drilling that might weaken the frame. I then ordered completely assembled hubs and AL-Kober USA ordered them from Germany. 3 weeks later, the hubs arrived. I have removed the tire, the drum and the brakes. To complete the installation I need to take off the old bearing spindle(for lack of a better term) There is a very large hex head bolt that connects the swing arm piece of the axle to the hub. If you look behind the swing arm, you see a very large hex head. The largest hex head wrench(Allen wrench) I could find on line is 19 mm. Not sure if that is big enough.
Anyone know what tool it takes to remove that bolt?
Has anyone completely removed a hub before?
I think I know why everyone just replaces the axle...
Regards,
Mark and Kim
