We have never been told we can't use the Add A Room but we have been to places where the ground has been to hard for us to use stakes....packed large gravel, etc.

I was lurking on Rpod Nation.Com and one poster said at one campground,he was told he couldn't use his Rpod dome( (add a room) as it was a tent. Another campground was upset with stakes in the ground No doubt worried about power water lines being punctured.
It appears to be a campground to campground thing.
Anyone else experience this?
