Re: [tabtrailers] New T@B owners, tips, advice, etc....

Hello Darren and Wendy,

Welcome to the forum.  There is so much valuable information here!!  Also plan to join some of the Rallies because so interesting to get six, eight, ten, twelve, etc., T@Bs together (with their owners).  I didn't plan to "full time" in my T@B but that's what I've done--for fourteen months.  I've found that it doesn't require a lot of "stuff" to live quite comfortably.

My T@B came from Germany and does not have A/C  (no Cool-Cat).  I've been suffering from the heat!!  It doesn't have a furnace either but a tiny ceramic heater does well in the winter.  A fan isn't sufficient in Florida heat!!   People are quick to suggest that I "add this, add that" (add an A/C) but I'm not making any modifications because I've donated it to the RV/MH Hall of Fame in Elkhart, Indiana.  Mine has a five gallon water tank under the sink.  I don't have a "city water" connection.  It doesn't have all the bells and whistles but it has served me very well for almost 20 months.

Best wishes from Lorraine

Hello all!

I've been lurking here for the past few weeks as we researched T@B's.. This is a great resource.

We are Darren and Wendy or together "darwen", and considering this as the name of our new T@B. We're avid outdoors folk (canoe, kayak, hike/backpack)and have been enjoying a 1980 Boler 13' for the past four years of adventures, but have recently decided to update.. Our search for a similar light weight replacement led us to a leftover new 2009 T@B clamshell... We couldn't be more excited about our new escape pod!!

So, we got the camping part down fine and now have a pretty good grasp on the ins and outs of fiberglass trailers... So now we'd love to hear the ins and outs for T@Bs. Any tips, tricks, advice would be great...

Happy Summer my compact camping friends!!!
