The two times I have been to a commercial scale, I had to go in and tell them I wanted to be weighed. The button was too high for me to reach from the ground. But I had pretty much the same experience, except that I had the tow vehicle on one pad and the camper on the other pad. I did disconnect so I could get the total weight for my camper. I have not gotten a separate tounge weight yet. I drove on, disconnected. Went inside and asked for a weight, then got my printout and went back out and reconnected and left.
