After I looked at all the pictures I could find, I hung some lightweight rods on 3M hooks on the side windows. I didn't think they'd stay, so I wired the rods to the hooks with a little florisst's wire, but I didn't see that anyone else did that. I just bought some ready-made curtains in the shortest length they came in. I could have had more width, but they're wide enough, and since I don't sew I'm at the mercy of ready-made.
In the front, I'm going to do just a valance. For now I haven't hung it, but I was thinking I'd run a piece of 1/4 inch elastic through the pocket, tie a small loop in each end, and hook it to 3M hooks set just at the bottom of the upper cabinets. We'll see how that works. The fabric should cover the loops and hooks.
