[tabtrailers] Time for a New Tow Vehicle!

My 2007 Jeep Patriot engine blew up on me on the way to a canoe trip last weekend. After paying a hefty tow bill to get it back to Erie, my mechanic tells me that I need to replace the engine. This puts a bad taste in my mouth with Jeep because I only had 60,000 miles on the vehicle. I had the engine oil cooler installed at a dealer, which is really the only engine component that makes the Jeep able to tow (other than the hitch and wiring assembly).

So -- about a $3,000 bill and I WILL be looking for a new tow vehicle.

Looking for a midzise SUV that is decent on gas when not towing.

Any ideas?
