We have a wedding to attend in Springfield, MO, in late summer and may plan a vacation around that area. We plan to take a float on the Meramec and stay a couple of days in that area before proceeding to Springfield from St. Louis. We plan to stay a couple of nights in Branson, MO. We aren't really interested in the shows...we're more water people. We've stayed there in the past and enjoyed the water activities.
Here is where I can use some suggestions. I drove through the Mountain Home, AK, area many years ago and promised to return but never did. Anyone have any suggestions for where to go and what to see after our stay in Branson? Are there some great camping spots near the Mountain Home area, or is there something better out there somewhere? It's possible one of our daughters will travel with us, so we'll need to be able to use the Thermarest room. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
