Fridge not cold freezer OK

1. On units with fins check the location of the thermistor on the fridge internal fins at the rear top of the main food box. The vertical position of this thermistor allows the temperature of the box to be changed. Just move this up to decrease the box temperature (make the fridge colder) and conversely if the food is too cold, move it down. Do this in small increments with a thermometer in the box. This actually allows you to balance the freezer/food compartment temperatures.

Installing a fan (as high as you can get it) in the rear compartment to exhaust the air will provide the most improvement. Just wire it through a switch mounted inside and turn it on when the temperature gets up to 85 degrees. Once you lose temperature in the box it can take hours to get it back and most times you will have to wait till night. Use a lighted switch so you can easily tell when the fan is on.

If your fridge is in reasonably good shape these two areas should keep your food around 40 degrees. Dometic is now installing dual fans for the large fridges that are mounted to the box at the factory.
