[A/S] International Rally

Okay, another International rally is in the bag. I think the attendance was about 535 units, way down from previous years. Some days were rainy and some were very hot and humid. Opening and closing ceremonies were much abbreviated and the whole rally felt condensed. It seamed that people were spending less money, especially at the flea market. I lead the morning exercise walk (called "Walking for Fun") and never had more then five walkers. The fairgrounds is about three miles long with several small lakes and some hills (mostly reclaimed from a coal strip mine). Many large trees were toppled by an F1 tornado the week before the rally started. Several box trailers (belonging to the horse trainers and groomers) were turned over. Still it's a very nice site for a rally. The thirty amp electrical service was solid and the water pressure was almost scary. There were about twenty-nine venders and I heard several were unhappy with the level of spending this year. As I look back the highlight as always was spending time with friends that I only rarely get to see and meeting many new Airstreamers.
