I had the problem on a 1999 Safari that I purchased new. The problem only
showed up when I ran the AC in high humidity areas. When I ran the AC in
Florida, I would get leaking from the AC vents inside the trailer. I took
it back to the factory under warranty a couple of times for this and other
items. They found nothing. When it started leaking one time in Florida, I
took off the AC filters inside the trailer, removed the drain hose, and
ran a temporary hose inside the trailer to the kitchen sink. No more leaks.
I then took a semi-stiff wire and ran up the AC drain hose from outside
the trailer near the wheel well. I hit an obstruction up about two feet. I
measured the distance to the obstruction on the outside of the trailer and
found that it was right at the molding that the factory attaches at the
waist of the trailer. My conclusion was that they riveted into the AC drain
hose when they assembled the trailer. The trailer was now out of warranty,
but I e-mailed Airstream service and told them of my problem and what I had
observed with the temporary hose and the obstruction at the waist line. I
also reminded them that I had two work orders where they had attempted to
fix the problem. They asked me to bring it up and if the problem was what
I had surmised, they would fix it under warranty. I did, and they did.
They ran a new drain line through the refrigerator compartment and did a nice
job.
