Re: [A/S] "Mintage Airstreams"

Hi Hunter,, You do have a good point here. But you have also put a lot of work into your airstream as well, With changes etc. and most all the Airsteams today that are 40years and plus  and are on the road still have required constant maintenance of some sorts over the years. By comparison of some of those "white boxes" (the higher end of course) Like the 25' Big foot  has just as good quality as many of the newer Airstreams, (at least the ones I've seen) for thousands of dollars less. Holiday Rambler and Carriage lite  aren't too shabby either. and can last along time if given the same maintenance as Airstreams. I'm still a great fan of the Airstream product.  but I still  think paying 50 grand for a 2011 19' Bambi is a little steep for what you get by comparison...Cheers, Dominick PS. I forgot I have a  1986 Sunline  Satellite 22 1/2 ft. trailer that is all original  and now has a vintage status. All she needs is a set of new tires and a good
outside polish and she'll be ready for any vintage rally. I'm the original owner . And the inside looks as fresh and crisp as the day it came off the showroom..Even has the same bedspread and pillow shams, Key is take good care of your unit, maintain it, keep on top of every little thing, garage it if possible and they will last a life time for the owner..

I disagree...... My Airstream will still be on the road long after those
white box fifth wheels are in landfills.

I bought my trailer in 1999 and could sell it today, for what I paid for
it...or very close to what I paid for it.

The reason I paid the big bucks for my trailer is because I plan to
never need to buy another trailer. That makes it very inexpensive in the
long run.

BTW, if I had bought a house back in 1999 it would have been a worse
investment than my trailer. <g>
