I just downloaded the helpful .pdf file about RV inverters and chargers from the Xantrex website. What I've noticed when looking at new coach dealer options are "600w" inverters as a desired option. According to this web info, 600w doesn't seem to go very far, at least if you need coffee brewing and morning news at the same time:-) I"m glad I didn't give away my old Chemex pots! Anne in VA
rating of your electronic device or appliance.
Example: If you are going to operate 2 devices
at once, add up the total wattage of both
devices then add at least 50% more to account
for peaks or spikes in the power draw.
(1) Coffee Maker 1000 watts
(2) Portable Lights 200 watts
Recommended size of inverter:
1200 watts (1000 watts + 200 watts)
+ 600 watts (0.50 X 1200 watts) = 1800 watts

My preference is a true sine-wave type as they don't create any noise on your radio and motors run cooler but they are about twice as expensive. If you plan on living full time in your trailer for several years it's a long term investment, might as well go with the good stuff.
