I also used a water-based Polyurethane. I put on 3 coats using one gallon
bought at Home Depot or Lowes. There is plenty left to re-coat after a year
or two of use. I would recommend it, even if your floor is sealed, so that
the seams & edges you trim, as needed, for laying out the floor, also get
sealed.

The kind I have from Lumber Liquidaters came primed but not sealed and so
required some kind of finish coat. I used water based polyurethane because
it dries fast (about an hour between coats) and it's very low odor.
