Hi Gary,
I looked at that technical section too, and I think the suggestion for
the extra antenna is for all the Kloss radios, some of them do have an
external antenna jack.
The alligator clip trick works pretty well, but I'm going to fancy it up
with a regular plug to accept the old antennas' plug, and then I'm going
to see if a better alligator clip will help. The antenna attaches with a
screw, and maybe I can rig a betterattachment there too.
I do have solar now, but I would like to keep the PAL since it is
battery operated, not running off the 12 V.
I really like my PAL, I'm on my second battery too.
