[A/S] Dead Ford Engine

 Hunter said "It doesn't have a Walmart. It used be be a part of a 300,000,000 acre cattle ranch... the Xit Ranch. Many businesses are names after the Xit... including the Ford dealer......
 
Hunter - The XIT stood for "Ten In Texas". With age, I've forgotten the signifigance, but it may have stood for 10 New York investors who were given the land by the state, and in exchange they may have paid for building our gorgeous state capital building. I'd bet other Texans will correct me if I'm too far off base. BTW - you may have too many zeros in there. Texas is a large state, but 300 million acres? Go have a cup of coffee with a local. I'm sure someone will give you the story..
