Hello folks,
The reason I'm looking at Suburban/Econoline type vehicles is because it
will be used exclusively to house 7 surfboards, 3 tents, a beach bike,
and about 75 cubic feet of other gear at my surf break which is 600
miles from my home. I keep the Globetrotter and tow vehicle at the beach
and when I see that the buoys are pumping, I can grab a flight to
Swami's and be in the line up in about 4 hours. While it's true that
motorcycles (and in my case a wild horse) can occasionally hitch a ride
with you, I've driven a 1967 VW bus since 1968 and have not had an
accident or unwanted passenger in those years. It could be because I've
always been the slowest thing on the road.....
Wyn

Hi Steve,
Those are two reasons why I wouldn't have a van. I've written here
before that I went from a Suburban to a pick up and one reason was not
to have all that stuff in the same compartment as the dogs and me.
I used to have an old beat up Econoline van..... it was scary to drive,
it felt like it was going to tip over making turns..... I would
practically come to a stop at intersections if i was going to turn.
All that said, they do make good tow vehicles.
