Anne,

 Yes.

The urea is a compound that goes into a separate tank. It is injected into
the exhaust under computer control to neutralize the oxides of nitrogen (a
nasty pollutant which forms nitric acid.

California EPA requires that the engine will not run if the urea tank runs
dry. Needless to say, I have an extra jug of the urea, which I call
 "Panther Piss."

"Panther Piss is the nickname of the cesium fuel additive used by the SR-71
spy plane (Mach 3 plus - 2000 mph plus) to reduce the radar signature of the
exhaust. Google used to bring it up, but recently it is hard to find.
Apparently it is used in the new generation of high performance military
aircraft (F-22 Raptor and F-35 Lightning II) which are also stealthy, hence
 the blackout.

I have this urea injection system on my BMW 335d - which, I believe, is
destined to become a legendary supercar. (like the Mercedes 300SEL 6.3, and
 300SL Gullwing, and Cadillac CTS-V).

If you want an amazing car without your trailer, this is it. VERY FAST -
Zero to 60 in under 7 seconds, no smell or soot (BMW says you can put a
clean handkerchief over the exhaust pipe and not stain it.) and 30 mpg.

This car uses TWO turbochargers- a small diameter, fast revving one, and a
larger diameter one for extra boost. Starting off from a stop light, the
computer engages the small turbo. This revs up so fast that there is
essentially no "turbo lag." It is so fast (remember diesels have high torque
even at low RPM) that you have to consciously depress the accelerator pedal
GENTLY. Otherwise, you will go flying forward!

On the highway and on hills, the performance is equally amazing. Just push
the pedal, the big turbokicks in, and the car just goes. The sound is a lot
like what you hear in a jet airliner when the pilot hits the throttle to
start a climb fro a holding pattern - WHOOSH! Equally important, the
suspension is incredibly competent, so there is no "white knuckle" effect.
Minimal sensation of speed, as the car feels like it is glued to the road. I
have never had a car which can get up to 100 mph plus so quickly and
 painlessly.

Friends who ride in it, or drive it, cannot believe it is a diesel.
