Hunter,
Is the newer Chevy/GM Duramax/Allison combo as good as in the 2008 truck?? Every where I have gone over the past three years and talked about wanting a truck to pull a 30' airstream, folks have universally encouraged the purchase of a used 2008 Chevy 2500!
Would love to hear anyone's thoughts. THanks in advance!
maryb...still lurking but have decided on the 27' and not the 30' Classic...so I am making progress! Now living full time in my 2005 Rialta FD.

Teri,
You want a 3/4 ton or a 1 ton truck. (2500 or 3500) (Ford F-250 or 350)
Crew cab, short bed or long bed if you don't mind driving an ocean liner.
You want a Ford, Dodge or Chevy.
You want a diesel....
Depending on your price range....... if you want a Ford you want one
with the older 7.3 diesel, or a new one with the 6.7.
You do not want a 6.0 diesel or a 6.4.
If you are looking at Dodges the 5.9 diesel gets better mileage than the
newer 6.7.
Chevy/GMC has the Duramax engine, Allison transmission which is the best
combo but expensive to repair and buy.
Personally I prefer Fords, even after my horrible experience this summer...
