Double dittos on "inadequate turn warning". Very frustrating,
especially when I have the "navigation" button set for "truck" use.
Alan, please rattle my cage when you find a GPS that suits you.
Oh - one other thing.
On my "GPS wish list" I want a female voice who projects friendliness
and patience. A little bit of kindness and a smiling attitude in her
voice would be just the ticket.
Although my wife's voice is good at all that (and more); the female
voice our current GPS has "attitude". Perhaps in real life this woman
is delightful, but on the GPS she's a thumbs down - bossy b..##$$.
I find myself ignoring her. Learning to tune her out is not what I
had in mind when I bought a "personalized travel guide who gives turn-
by-turn directions".
Granted there have been times when I'm glad I paid attention to her
"orders"; but even then - there was very little social satisfaction
with the GPS voice --- even after successfully arriving at our
destination. Today, I covered her face (the GPS device) with one of
my old hats so I don't have to look at her when she's not giving me
orders.
Perhaps Apple will come out with a GPS device using Siri's voice. I
might even stand in line for her. Well - probably not.
