That would work if you can seal them up well enough. Easiest way would be
to open the outside door and use a dremel or similar tool to cut from just
inside the door opening. After closing the door you would have to use a
fair amount of sealant as the door isn't very weather tight. Adding
insulation after removal and putting a patch on the inside would complete
the job. I did the whole removal to save the doors for others which were
quickly snatched up.
