This past summer I built a 40' long by 18' wide "terraport" for my Airstream, I finished it in September, all wood construction with the good shingles. Instead of
trusses I built it w/ rafters 16" on center to give me more clearance overhead. It turned out really nice and now my 30' Classic is out of the sun, rain and snow
when not in use. I stained it w/ the good Behr stain from Home Depot.
However, instead of my A/S being home in Michigan under roof, I'm in Memphis leaving for Scottsdale, AZ tommorrow.
I think keeping them under cover will keep them nicer alot longer.
just my opinion

Subject: [A/S] Hobbs...
I finally had time to post pictures of our beloved Hobbs (in photos, 1965 26' Overlander) going under the knife!
So we assume the flooring water damage is all rain-related, not floor faulty.
Questions for you guys: what percentage of the year is your Airstream uncovered/exposed to the elements, as opposed to storage in a covered barn, under aluminum carport, ie...away from the rain!
How many of you keep it stored out of the elements, when not in use?
If we want this renovation work to last 20-30 years, I'm trying to figure out if its worth a $4k aluminum boat cover to keep it out the rain.
Am i making sense?
Thanks!
