The Minuets were offered in three varieties:
6.0 Metre (20 Foot -- Single Axle)
6.7 Metre (22 Foot -- Single Axle)
7.4 Metre (24 Foot -- Tandem Axle)
These coaches were sold as an answer to the energy crisis -- as light-weight trailers that could be towed by some compact and a number of their contemporary mid-size automobiles. Part of the weight savings was in their width of 7.0 feet rather than the 7' 8" of the standard Argosy coaches, another weight saving feature was the use of acrylic material in the side windows (the front and rear windows retained standard glass). The coaches also had a lower level of standard equipment, but with a long list of optional equipment it wouldn't take long to option a Minuet to equal a typical standard Argosy.
When conidering the smallest two Minuets even more weight was saved on some of the coaches through the use of what can best be described as experimental flooring. A rather large number of the 6.0 Metre Minuets were equipped with composite aluminum floors and a few of the 6.7 Metre Minuets were also equipped with the composite aluminum floors as well. The only problems with theses composite floors is that they do tend to develop a valley where there is heavy traffic, and you are typically limited to either carpet or laminate with cushioned underlayment that can hide the rivet lines.
