I'm probably going to make some enemies with this post but I see this
mouse flap as a whole pointless waste of bandwidth...
Why?
Because a small package of Bounce sheet fabric softener will keep the
mice out of your trailer...
I speak from experience, I live where mice and rats and squirrels are a
royal PITA
and as I have dogs and as a pet owner, I am dead set against
poisons and traps. so about 6 or 7 years ago, I invested in a small
package of
Bounce sheet fabric softener after reading about mice avoiding it on a
RV forum...
My 1964 28 ft Airstream Ambassador has been mouse and rat free ever since
simply by putting a sheet of Bounce in the back of storage spaces,
behind the
fridge, and near any seldom used access panel and equipment space that
might harbor mice.
(Interestingly, I have photographed brown Norwegian rats at night with a
wildlife IR triggered camera within a few feet of the cable entrance to
my trailer
and they won't go near it.)
Ever since investing in a single package of Bounce, my trailer is
totally critter free,
more than I can say for my old house and workshop building... And
Bounce seems
to last a long, long, time, I've never had to replace any of the
original sheets placed
in the trailer unless I remove or destroy a sheet while working on the
trailer or
moving stuff around. And those replacement sheets come from the
original package
as it still has plenty remaining and still just as good for mouse
prevention as the
day I purchased it...
Therefore I don't understand what all this flap is about, go get a
package of Bounce
and solve your critter problems...
its a very inexpensive and readily available solution to say nothing
about being mess
and odor free...
